Adam Riemer

Adam Riemer is an accomplished businessperson and entrepreneur with successful experience spanning strategic, business management, and creative areas. Over the last ten years, Adam has been a principal in a successful commercial real estate development and management firm, with a keen eye for opportunity and turning undervalued properties into thriving developments. He was a co-founder of an online photo service that grew dramatically and then was acquired, and has worked in television and film production, and photography, bringing both business acumen and creative vision to each of these areas.

Commercial real estate

Adam is the co-founder of Ingenuity Properties, LLC, a property development and management firm with a 400,000 square-foot portfolio of Class A commercial, office, retail and residential property in Massachusetts. Developing and implementing the firm’s strategy, he locates new properties, identifies ways to build value, and oversees leasing to new tenants.

Adam’s real estate work has a track record of significant success. For a 290,000-square foot office building, he and his team secured LEED Gold EB certification, an Energy Star score of 98, and has a fully occupied building with long term tenants including national businesses. He led the purchase of a 60,000-square foot medical and office building and is currently overseeing improvements in energy efficiency and renovations. He also led a project to demolish an abandoned gas station and build a 7,500-square foot fully leased retail and residential building. Adam manages Ingenuity Properties with Mara Riemer Goldstein, who has 20 years of experience investing in and managing commercial real estate.

Adam also previously co-founded unwined, a wine bar and lounge on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, attached to the acclaimed Symphony Space performance center. Adam secured noteworthy performers to play in this space, including Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors and Matthew Friedman from the Broadway hit Movin’ Out.

Television and film production

Currently writing a feature length romantic comedy slated for production in the fall of 2014, Adam also has also been a producer and writer for a number of other television shows and films. He was executive producer of the short film A Through M (accepted as an official selection at twenty film festivals including Newport Beach, Palm Beach, and Boston Underground), writer and director of the short film Underdog, and writer and director of the short documentary Rudy—Ready, Willing and Able.

On the television side, his tenure at MTV networks included senior production manager roles for many of the network’s most popular shows, including “Fashionably Loud,” “MTV Unplugged,” “The Grind,” “Video Music Awards,” “Spring Break,” and “NBA All Star Bash.” He also managed the production of Comedy Central’s concert and comedy event “Hi-fi Party.”

Photography: EveryoneSmile and creative work

An early visionary who immediately understood how the Internet would change the way people took, printed, and shared photos, Adam created the online photo service EveryoneSmile in 1999. Initially, he managed a team of photographers who captured images at events for sharing online with attendees. Adam then transformed EveryoneSmile into a consumer online photo sharing service, also launching a private label program to give world class tourist destinations and resorts their own branded cameras allowing customers to capture memories of their experiences and share them digitally.

Adam also launched the EveryoneSmile service for professional photographers,  SmileShot, for photography of weddings and large events and for backstage fan photos of performers including Aerosmith, Godsmack, and Christina Aguilera. EveryoneSmile was acquired by Digibug Express.

Adam’s own photography includes color and black and white work for The Boston Globe, the MV Times, the Jewish Advocate, and This Week on Martha’s Vineyard. He has also taken photographs and led photographer teams for the Race for the Cure and Maccabi youth games.

Recognized in 2013 as one of the top 18 influential young adults in the Boston Jewish community, Adam is a long-standing board member and juror for the Boston Jewish Film Festival, is a Jewish Big Brother, and is co-founder of BigLittleConnection of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters and Boston Battles Parkinson’s. He is actively involved in Combined Jewish Philanthropies.

Adam graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in Television & Radio. He also has a Certificate in Digital Filmmaking from New York University and a Certificate in Screenwriting from Emerson College.
